This morning I woke up in Berlin and spoke to a room of over 200 international coworking space owners, coworking catalysts, coworking enthusiasts, and a whole bunch who I’d call “coworking curious”.
I’m at the 2nd annual Coworking Europe Conference and its a blast.
The theme of the Coworking Europe conference this year is “Taking it to the next level” and my keynote theme was meant to be “It’s all about the community”.
It occurred to me that the best way to explain the abstract concept of “community” in the context of coworking was to bring along a 12 minute video of Indy Hall members talking about why Indy Hall is important to them. This very, very rough cut will give you a sample of how people who pay to be Indy Hall members feel about their participation in the Indy Hall coworking community. It’s truly inspiring to hear from Indy Hall’s members how this experience is valued in their lives.
Keying off the themes shared in the video, the rest of my address was a bit of synthesis, but mostly a challenge to the CoworkingEU Conference attendees. Check out the slides below or on SpeakerDeck.
A special thank you to Jean-Yves and the entire team of conference organizers, and to everyone I got to meet in Berlin over the course of the event!
