If you’ve been following along on Technically Philly, this should sound familiar.
“The biggest problem I’m seeing our graduates having is the problem of hiring. The main demographic they seek is engineers in their 20s and those guys want to live in [the city of] San Francisco [over Silicon Valley]. The majority of YC grads head to the city now.” – Harj Taggar, Y-Combinator Partner
Wait! How is this possible. This is San Fran-freaking-cisco and Silicon-flipping-Valley! The mythical place “where all of the engineers we could ever dream of” are!
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it one. more. time.
Enough with the excuses. You’ll always have a reason “why not”.
Yawn.
The problem isn’t special. And you’re not special. And you won’t be until your creative solution to the problems everybody else has sets you – and this region – apart.
