a moment of silence

she left. my trusty iMac, my first mac as a primary computer, and the first intel mac to set foot-erm-pedestal into our home, is being sold to a good friend of mine, now that she’s been edged out by my shiny new macbook pro. At least I know she’s going to a good home. I’m spending tonight reinstalling OS X, dusting behind the iMac (ew), and clearing the spot for the lappy.

a moment of silence, please.

p.s. no i didnt sell her for money to spend on an iPhone. [tags]apple, imac, macbook pro, sold[/tags]

She will be greatly missed. I also feel the discomfort of letting a loved one go – my mac9600 sat next to my feet for almost 10 years before I could put her in the hands of my sanitary engineer. She hadnt seen electric in almost a decade but I just couldn’t bear to part. I remeber the first time I turned her on, she smiled and made a nice little chime noise. The rest is history.
